The Component Assignment History frame is a query frame that can be used to view as well as modify the Owning Department assignment throughout the life of a component.
View History
To view the assignment history for a particular component, enter the component number in the Component field or double-click in the field to select one from the list of values (LOV). Press tab or enter to load the assignment history data in the Owning Department i-frame.
The i-frame will display the current assignment first and any past assignments after. Each record will contain the Department Number, Description, Effective Date and End Date. The current assignment will not have an end date populated.
Change Assignment
To change the current Owning Department on a particular component, enter a new department number in the blank Department field or you can select one from the LOV.
Enter in an Effective Date and click the SAVE button at the top of the frame. The new department entered will become the current assignment and the previous assignment will be ended.
The End date will populate with the same date as the Effective date for the new Owning Department assignment.
Delete Assignment
To delete an Owning Department assignment, click in the row of the assignment you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete button (Red X). The selected row will turn red. Click the SAVE button. The record will be removed from the list.
