Cycle Count Codes are used to determine how often a physical inventory count is performed on a particular part. A Cycle Count is one method of collecting physical inventory counts. These codes can be created and maintained on this frame.
After these codes are set up, they must be manually assigned to each part on the Part Inventory Parameters frame in the Physical Inventory Parameters sections.
Create
To create a new Cycle Count Code, click in the blank Code field at the bottom of the i-frame. Type in a new code. This field has a limit of 11 characters.
Next enter in a Description for the new code. For example, ‘120 Day Count’ or ’60 Day Count’. After you enter the new information. Click the Save button. The new code will now be available for use on the Part Inventory Parameters frame.
Modify
You can edit the description of existing Cycle Count Codes. Click in the Description field and type a new description over the existing one. Once complete, click Save.
Delete
You can delete a Cycle Count Code provided it is not in use anywhere in the system. Otherwise you cannot delete the code. There is no disable function available on this frame.
To delete a code, click the row of the code you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete Button (Red X) at the top of the frame. The row will turn red. Click the Save Button and the record will be removed from the system.
