The Job Status Codes frame is used to create and maintain codes to indicate a job’s progress or level of completion on a Work Order.
New codes can be created and defined as needed but M5 includes some hard coded status codes that are required by other modules and cannot be modified.
BYE, CAN, DON, VEN, WFA, WIP, and WR are all grayed out and their descriptions and priorities cannot be changed. Certain flag check boxes are able to be changed, but others are not. Flags that are cannot be modified will also appear grayed out.
Create
To create a new Job Status Code, click in the last blank Status field and type in the new code. The Status field has a three character limit.
Next enter in a description for the new code. This field has a 20 character limit. The Priority field must be a number between 0 and 10.
Checking the Allow Work Order Completion box will allow a work order with this job status on a job to be completed without the job being set to a status of ‘DON’.
To Require Complaint, Cause, or Correction Notes and a job with this new status, check any or all of the boxes that apply. Once complete, click the Save button at the top of the frame.
If the Require Booking Authorization flag is checked, the job cannot have any work order charges (parts/fluid/labor) entered on Work Order Main or Work Order Express without authorization.
Modify
For codes that can be modified, you can change any fields that are not grayed out. If the field is grayed out, you will not be able to change that value. After changes are complete. Click the Save button.
Disable
To disable a code, click the Disable box in the row of the code you want to disable. Click Save. The code will no longer be available for use as a job status. Certain codes, like the ones mentioned above, cannot be disabled.
Delete
You can delete a Job Status Code provided it is not one of the hard coded job status that other modules depend on AND it is not in use anywhere in the system. Otherwise you will not be able to delete that Job Status Code.
To delete a code, click in the row to make it active and then click the Delete button (Red X) at the top of the frame. Click Save. The row will be removed from the list and the Job Status will no longer exist in the system.
