The User Class Codes frame allows you to setup codes to accommodate your organization’s need to group units in ways that are not already defined in M5.
Five user-defined code tables have been provided by Class Type (1-5). Each type can be used to create hundreds of different codes.
These are user-defined codes, so it is up to the user to determine how the codes are to be entered and used in a way that will best suit the organization’s needs.
User class codes are not required to be entered on the unit table, however by using System Flags 1181-1185 you can make them mandatory on unit entries.
To create a new user class Code, select a Class Type from the dropdown in the User Class Selection section.
In the blank Code field, enter a new code. This field has a limit of 14 alphanumeric characters. Next, enter a Description for the code. This field has a limit of 40 characters.
After you have completed the entry, select the SAVE button. The new code will now be available for use on Unit Main entries.
You can modify the Description for existing codes. You are unable to change the code after it has been created and saved.
To enter a new description, select the Description field and enter a new description over the old one. Select the SAVE button and the record will be updated to reflect the change.
To disable a user class Code, select the Disabled Flag checkbox in the row of the code you want to disable. Select the SAVE button and the code is not available for use.
You can delete a code provided it is not in use anywhere in the system. Otherwise you will not be able to delete the user class Code.
To delete a Code, select the row of the code you want to delete to make it active. Select the DELETE button at the top of the frame. Select SAVE.
The user class Code is removed from the list and is no longer be available for use or exist anywhere in the system.
See the System Flags Table for a complete listing of system flags.
