The Shift Types frame allows you to create and maintain a list of codes to group individual shifts together on the Shift Maintenance frame for Shop Planning purposes. A shift type can contain many individual employee shifts. For example, you might want to group together all shifts starting at 9:00 AM into a single shift type called 'DAY SHIFTS'.
Create
To create a new shift type, click in the blank Schedule Shift field and enter a new code. This field has a limit of five characters and must be numerical. Enter a description for the new code. This field has a limit of 30 characters.
For example: 1 - DAY SHIFTS, 2 - NIGHT SHIFTS, 3 - WEEKENDS
When finished with the entry, click the Save button at the top of the frame. The new shift type will now be available for use.
Modify
You can only modify the descriptions of existing shift types. To change a description, click in the Description field and type the new description over the existing one. Click Save when finished to update the record.
Disable
To disable a shift type, check the Disabled flag in the row of the shift type you want to disable. Click the Save button to disable the code.
Delete
You can delete a shift type provided it is not in use on any other tables in the system. If the code is in use, you will not be able to delete it from the list.
To delete a shift type that is not in use, click in the row of the code you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete button (Red X) at the top of the frame. The selected row will turn red. Click Save to delete the shift type.
