Quote Main

The Quote Main frame allows you to create a request for a quote to perform work on a collection of work requests. By definition, a “quote” is a collection of work requests gathered together to be quoted to a customer, approved by them, and billed when the work is complete. It can be for existing work requests or work requests that you will create from here as part of the quote procedure.

To view an existing quote, enter the quote Number. The detail will appear across the five tabs (Customer, General, Value, Work Requests/Jobs, History). The quote Status can be Build, Quoted or Cancelled. The quote will expire on the Expiration Date.

Work Request Defaults will appear on the General tab. The Value tab will display the Billing Method and account. The Work Request/Job tab will show the details of the related work requests.  The History tab will show all the steps that have been taken as the quote moves from Build status to Quoted or Cancelled.

To create a new quote click on the New Quote button. You will be asked to confirm the new quote. Next, enter the Description, up to 24 characters, letters and numbers. Then, select Unit or Dept and enter the number for the selected entity. Press tab or enter.

The contact person will appear in the Contact Information section. Select SAVE and a Quote Number is assigned. New quotes begin in the Build Status. Next, on the Value tab, enter the Bill Method and Direct Acct. No.

On the Work Requests/Jobs tab select links to Add Existing Work Request To This Quote or Add New Work Request To This Quote. The Work Request Main frame will open to complete that process. Select SAVE when finished.
