The Printer Groups frame gives you the ability to create and maintain sets or groups of printers for use in Crystal Reports. Each printer on the Printer Definition screen must be assigned to a Printer Group to be used in Crystal Enterprise.
To create a new Printer Group enter a new group name. The Name field has a limit of 30 alphanumeric characters. After pressing tab or enter, you will be asked to confirm the creation of the new group.
Next go the first empty row double click in the field to select your printer(s) from the list of values (LOV). You must first setup and configure printers on the Printer Definition frame before they will appear on this LOV. Complete the process to add all necessary printers. Click the 'Save' button at the top of the frame when finished.
You can then assign roles to the printer group on the Roll tab or you can assign printer groups to specific roles via the Role Maintenance frame.
To view or modify an existing Printer Group enter the group name or double click in the field to select one from the list of values (LOV). The included printers and roles will appear on the tabs below. To add a new printer go to the last empty row and enter or select a Printer. Complete the same process to add a role on the Role tab. When finished, click 'Save'.
To delete a printer or role, select its row and click the 'Delete' button (red X) at the top of the frame. The select row will turn red. Click 'Save' to remove the record.
You can also delete the Printer Group by clicking in the Name field and clicking the 'Delete' button. You will receive a popup asking you to confirm the action. Click 'Delete' again to confirm.
