Operational Entity Group

The Operational Entity Group frame allows you to create and maintain Operational Entity Groups to assign to user roles. They are used in much the same way as Location Groups (i.e. for querying/reporting purposes and restricting user access). Operational Entity Groups are used in the Unit Availability module.

From this frame, you can also control access for entry of confirmation counts on Availability Unit Confirmation. In order to grant access for confirmation counts, you must assign an Operational Entity Group to the user's role.

NOTE: An "Operational Entity" is determined by the value of System Flag 2032 (using or owning department).

Creating a Group

To create a new group enter the group name in the Operational Entity Group field. This field has a limit of 30 characters. After entering the new group name, enter the Operational Entities or double click in the field to select them from the list of values (LOV).

The final step is to assign Roles to the Operational Entity Group. If you add a role, then all Application Users assigned to that role will be part of the group. When you are finished assigning roles, click the Save button to create the new group.

Modifying a Group

To modify an existing group, enter the group name or double click in the Operational Entity Group field and select the group from the list of values (LOV). You can add/remove any Operation Entities/Roles as needed. When you are finished making changes to the group, click the Save button to update the group record.

Deleting a Group

You can delete an Operational Entity Group provided it is not in use anywhere else in the system. To delete a group that is not in use, click in the Operational Entity Group name field and then click the Delete button (red X) at the top of the frame. You will receive a pop up asking if you are sure you want to delete the group. Click 'Delete' to confirm the action.

System Flags

2032 - Operational entity: 1-Using;2-Owner - The flag defines the search criteria for the Operational Entity report.  This flag will indicate which entities will be part of the selection criteria in the various unit availability reports.
