This screen allows you to setup and maintain Claim Category Definition codes for use in Warranty Processing. If System Flag 5257 is set to 'Y', these codes will be mandatory on Warranty Claim Manager and you will need to set them up here before beginning any Warranty Processing.
Create
To create a new Claim Category Definition, enter a new code in the blank 'Warr Category' field. This field has a limit of three characters. Then, enter a description for a new code. The Description field has a limit of 40 characters.
When finished, click the Save button at the top of the frame to create the new Claim Category Definition.
Modify
You can edit the description for the code by clicking in the Description field and entering a new description over the existing one. After entering the new description, click the Save button to update the record.
Disable
To disable a code, click in the 'Disabled' check box in the row of the Claim Category Definition you want to disable. Click the Save button to disable the code.
Delete
You can delete a Claim Category Definition provided it is not in use anywhere else in the system. To delete a code that is not in use, click in the row of the code you want to delete to make it active and click the Delete button (Red X) at the top of the frame. The selected row will turn red. Click the Save button to permanently delete the record.
System Flags
5257 - Enforce Category on Warranty Claim Manager? (Y/N) - By setting this flag to 'Y', the Category field on Warranty Claims will become a mandatory field.
