License Permit Types

The License Permit Types frame is used to create and maintain codes to indicate the types of licenses and permits that will be assigned to units. These codes can be assigned on Unit Main or on the License/Permit Admin frame, depending on the value of System Flag 2015.

Create

To create a new License Permit Type, click in the blank Type field and type in a new code. This field has a limit of ten characters. Enter a description for the type. This field has a limit of 26 characters.

Next enter a value in the Maximum Units field. This number represents the number of Unit Licenses or Permits that can use this Type code.

To associate Subfees with the license or permit type, check the Subfee box. This will load the fields in the Subfees i-frame below. Type in a name for the Subfee (14 character limit) and a value in the Fee field (dollar amount).

The License Flag must be checked for License Types if you want them to be eligible to be the Primary License for a unit. See License/Permit Admin for more information.

Once you have completed the entry, click the Save button at the top of the frame. The new License or Permit Type will be available for use.

Modify

To modify an existing License or Permit Type, click in the field you want to change and type in the new information or check/uncheck the flag you want to change. Click Save to update the record.

The Type code field will not be changeable once the record has been saved; that field will be read-only after the initial creation of the code.

Delete

You can delete a License Permit Type provided it is not in use by any other tables in the system. If the code is in use, you will not be able to delete it from the list.

To delete a Type code that is not in use, click in the row of the code you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete button (Red X). The selected row will turn red. Click the Save button to delete the License or Permit Type from the system.

System Flags

2015 – Use the License/Permit Admin Frame Exclusively to Maintain Unit Licenses? (Y/N) – If this flag is set to ‘Y’, then all unit license and permit information must be added via the License/Permit Admin frame rather than on Unit Main.

For more information see the Asset Management Application Training guide.
