The Unit Replacement Model frame is the first part of the replacement model process. Here, you can select the specific fields that will be reviewed in the replacement model. The replacement model is used to help fleets determine which existing units should be replaced.
For more information and a rundown of the entire replacement model process, see the Replacement Modeling Overview Reference Guide.
View/ Modify
To view or modify an existing model, enter the model name in the Name field or double click to select one from the list of values (LOV).
If the model status is Selection, you will be able to modify the Replacement Model Filters. If the model has moved passed the Selection status, you will need to click the Revert this Model Back to the Selection Phase button from the more options drop down next to the Find button to revert the model back so that the filter information can be changed.
Creating a New Model
Creating the Unit Replacement Model is the first step in constructing a vehicle replacement policy for your organization.
In the Name field, type in the name of the new Replacement Model. The Action Required dialog box will appear. Click the Create button to confirm the action.
Type the year for this model in the Planning for Fiscal Year field. In the Model Notes field you can enter any additional notes or comments about the model.
Next, select filters for the model from the Replacement Model Filters section. For example you may want to run a model on a specific Unit Number or units in a certain status. You can filter by one of these criteria or a combination. If no specific filters are set, the model will forecast all active units in the fleet that meet their Life Cycle and Replacement parameters tied to the Category Code that is associated with the unit’s Tech Spec. This information can be found on the Category Main frame.
To select a filter, check the Enabled check box to the left of the field name. From the Operator drop down, select an operator. Such as equal to, less than or equal to, greater than, between, etc. Then enter a Value in the Value field or select one from the list of values by double clicking in the field.
Click the Save button. The model will move into the Selection status in the Status drop down to the right of the Replacement Model Name. This field is read only.
Once the new model has been created, from the more options drop down to the right of the find button, click the Advance to the Next Step of the Replacement Model Generation (Blue Arrow) icon, to advance to the Replacement Model Prioritization frame.
